1. Do I need a visa?
A: Canadian citizens, if you are staying less than 30 days, NO. If you are staying 30 days or more it is suggested to obtain a travel visa prior to coming or you may purchase a visa upon arrival at the airport. For Greece, Canadian citizens using Canadian passports do not require a visa to enter Greece for tourism or business stays under ninety (90) days
2. Is it safe?
A: Bali is highly travelled and know to be a safe place. The local people are friendly and welcoming of visitors, however we do not recommend walking alone at night. The biggest safety concern in our minds are on the roads. The streets and traffic are far from North American standards and scooter accidents are not uncommon. We do not recommend learning to ride a scooter here. Even if you are experienced in riding a motorcycle or scooter back home, use extreme caution! Nothing will ruin your vacation like a trip to the hospital.
Amorgos, Greece is a very quiet island and known for its peaceful nature. The retreat centre has staff 24hrs a day and is very secure, however we still recommend using the buddy system vs. walking alone.
3. Do I need any vaccines?
A: We advise you contact your family physician or local travel clinic for a list of recommended vaccinations for the area you will be travelling. Please note travel vaccines are no longer a benefit covered under Canadian MSP and the cost can be surprising.
4. What kind of currency should I bring?
A: In Bali, the local currency is Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). If you budget for $50 CAD per day during the retreat (7 days, $10-$15 for dinner, $5-$10 for taxi or scooter ride, plus additional for shopping, visiting tourist attractions, etc.) bring 3.75million IDR, equivalent to $350 CAD. Please budget accordingly, but know that credit cards are accepted at most restaurants and store fronts. There are ATM's, money exchanges and banks in Bali as well if you require additional funds while you are visiting.
In Greece, the local currency is the Euro. Coming prepared with at least $500 CAD ($340 EU) will cover the cost of ferry travel, or any shopping you wish to do during this week. Credit cards are widely accepted, but please budget accordingly.
5. I have never done yoga before, can I still come?
A: A big HECK YES! We welcome seasoned yogis and beginners with open arms. You do not have to have any experience, just a willingness to try something new and an openness to learn
6. What if I need to cancel?
A: We require a $500 non-refundable deposit to hold your space, but we understand that things can come up. If you cancel over 6months before the start of your retreat we are happy to refund 100% of your balance (excluding the $500 deposit). If you cancel between 3-5 months prior to the start of your retreat we will refund 50% of your balance (excluding the $500 deposit).
